An established Pharmaceutical company driven by innovative R&D with a mission of utilising ground-breaking technologies to create transformative medicines in the field of oncology, CNS, and Autoimmune Diseases "providing today's patients with medicines of the future"

Given their success globally they are now looking to continue expanding across the US and are looking to appoint an Executive Director of Business Development to effectively impact their growth strategy.

The core responsibilities required for this role will be:

  • The Senior - Executive Director of Business Development will play a key role in developing and executing the company's overall business strategy
  • Identify growth opportunities and areas of innovation aligned with the company strategy
  • Ability to make key decisions and quickly prioritize on most interesting partnering opportunities
  • Proactively monitor the external business environment and maintain a knowledge base of licensing transactions
  • Support the identification, evaluation, and execution of acquisition, investment, and partnership opportunities across the CNS therapeutic area, and assets, including Out-licensing/in-licensing opportunities
  • Support the drafting and negotiating of transaction term sheets utilizing creative deal structures and processes that result in business success and maximum value
  • Actively involved in managing alliances and ensuring their highest chance of success
  • Negotiation and structuring of licensing agreements and implementation of alliances

Qualifications:

  • MD and/or Ph.D. in the biological sciences or related fields with experience in Business Development
  • Must have - Scientific or clinical expertise in CNS or related fields, including the drug development and commercialization process
  • Highly Desirable - Scientific and/or BD&L experience in additional therapeutic areas; experience in Alliance Management
  • Extensive experience in biotech or pharmaceutical R&D, demonstrating international experience in multiple cultures and drug discovery / clinical environments
  • Demonstrated experience leading and influencing experienced professionals and executives
  • Ability to think critically, creatively and to anticipate and solve problems
