Position: Scientific Technical Specialist (Analytical Sciences)

Location: Cork, Ireland

Contract Length: 12 months

Work Structure: Monday - Friday (39 hrs per week)

Scientific Technical Specialist - Position Overview: I am seeking a highly skilled Scientific Technical Specialist to join the client's Analytical Sciences (AS) team. This role demands strong analytical experience and the ability to provide multidisciplinary expertise and technical support to the team. As a Scientific Technical Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the efficient execution of analytical projects, supporting the broader Technology team to ensure the success of various initiatives.

Scientific Technical Specialist - Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in cross-functional projects, troubleshooting teams, and site investigations.
  • Expertise in protein chemistry and analytical techniques in a Chemistry Separations laboratory (e.g., HPLC, CE, protein biochemistry).
  • Conduct method validations, method transfers, and equipment qualifications in a GMP environment.
  • Perform laboratory experiments to meet project timelines.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, including method optimization and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare documentation in line with GDP (good documentation practice) and site procedures.
  • Prepare, review, and approve technical documents, procedures, CAPAs, change controls, deviations, metrics, etc.
  • Maintain adherence to the highest quality standards.

Scientific Technical Specialist - Qualifications:

  • BSc/MSc in Science.
  • At least 3 years of industry experience with chemistry techniques (e.g., HPLC, CE, protein biochemistry) in a QC/Analytical role.
  • Proven success in team environments such as project teams and problem-solving teams.
  • Self-motivated with strong project management skills.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Desired experience with Empower3, Astra, SAP.
  • Demonstrated ability to realize improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with advanced PC skills.
  • Project management qualifications (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP)).
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
